Day one of my adventure at Tiger Muay Thai began today. I rested at the weekend as I wasn’t very well (not flu) and I have disciplined myself to my original choice of classes today so that I dont over train. I started at 6.30am with the amazing morning yoga. It is such a lovely start to the day and so feel good and relaxing.
There was time for some R&R before the 8.30am CrossFit Class. It was Upper Focus and using proper barbells rather than hand weights as well as throwing medicine balls with a partner (which I loved). I have never done anything using barbells and as my upper body strength is my weakest area I just used the pole to learn good form (the pole is 8 kilos). I kind of enjoyed it but was a little stressed because everyone else seemed to know what they were doing and had weights added. I had fun once I relaxed and realised that it is not The Olympics and I was right to focus on form.
Then more rest at our villa and lunch followed by a 1.00pm Strength and Conditioning class where the focus was deadlifts and lower body. Now that I really enjoyed because I felt confident enough to add two 5 kilo barbells to my pole.Nothing compared to everybody else but it was good for me. I know for next week I might be able to lift a bit more as my lower body is relatively strong. Now it is complete rest and a swim in the pool and a light dinner before night yoga tonight. No Muay Thai for me today… the above is enough 😀💪💪💪
Now all that is progress year on year. I feel so good… yet, I know it is going to be my upper body that I feel tomorrow even though I used very little weight. I know I didn’t use enough for my lower body but, again focus on correct form but I had an absolute blast. I really did.
Wendsday/ Having a autoimmune attack. Hoping it will pass quickly . I got my daughter on the bus and went back to bed fir a cat nap before work. Had a busy 3 house day. I’m worn out, my joints and muscles are very sore. After dinner felt I needed some yoga and stretching. I did 30 minutes of meditative , flowing yoga. making it up as I went . It was a very nice way to end the evening.
Tuesday- picked up a job today . It’s my day off so I went in late . I took advantage of my late start by cat napping after my daughter got on the bus. I sure needed it. Took my son with me to work. He was helpful and and vacuumed some. Didn’t let him do the entire house as he still is having tooth pain. I’m not feeling my best today. Tried to talk myself out of doing a rutione. The walk and talk a did yesterday came to mind .Thankfully I have you lovely ladies to keep me accountable. I didn’t feel sick so I tried the ultimate fat blasting ab routine from you tube . It was great , got me sparkling and motivated me to do yoga sculpt from YouTube . I always enjoy that one .It was wonderful but very tough for me tonight . Will most likely to a Stretching routine in the morning.
Well, it’s hot and humid here right now, with regular breaks for rain. I’ve been so negligent toward my yard and garden this year; I just haven’t had any desire to work outside, and it shows! So, with both of those facts in mind, I’ve decided that I have to get myself in gear, regardless of how I feel about it. Action produces feelings! This morning, I took the dog walking (1.5 miles), completed Total Body Training from WS1, and followed that up with a 15 minute post-workout stretch from YouTube. Then, out into the yard. I moved some hostas from a spot they’ve lived in for probably more than 10 years to try to fill in a spot in another section of the yard. I actually moved only a few little pieces because I know they should expand to fill in the spot, so it wasn’t that bad. Getting started is half the battle. After that, I did some weeding until it got too hot for me to handle. This afternoon, after completing some household chores, I went to the store and bought some herb, flower, and vegetable plants, along with some bird seed, etc. I figure I’ll plant it if I have it–I’ll have to! I work this afternoon, so I’ll wait until the sun starts to set and it cools off a little before trying to get back out there. I just need to set a goal each day for what I want to get done; that will make it easier to get out there.
Day 3 of my week of yoga and hiking. I did Yoga Sculpt as my early morning workout and really enjoyed it. It is the first time ever that I felt comfortable doing weighted half moon. Usually I do it without weights or with only one weight. I put some Bob Marley on as I prepared breakfast and did a reggae flow
This morning I went for a hike on Hong Kong Island. It was moderate but that was enough as it has been so hot this week. We came down via a stream so I got some easy stream trekking experience and well over 20,000 steps today. It is enough.
The heat is taking its toll and the plan for this evening is a nice stretching routine. Before that I will curl up with a cup of tea and a book. No hiking tomorrow…
Mholdworth I hope that you are feeling much better after a wonderful night of sleep.
