Yesterday got in quite an upper body and ab workout as I cleaned up the debris under our birdfeeder……..what a mess !!! 😀 I hadn’t done it all winter and there was about 3 inches of seed shells and corn that needed cleaned up and I was hurrying because rain was on its way and got here before I could get it completely finished.
Today I was short on time and energy so I did the Power Up walk from my new DVD….LOVED it, it gave me the boost I needed and much like I suspected I was ready to do more after the 10 minutes was up just didn’t have time.
I know I said I got a 15 minute walk DVD too, I don’t know what I was thinking as I got Jessica’s Metabolism Boost DVD and it looks great too….like anything from Jessica would be anything else 😀
mholdsworth hope all is going well <3
Today was Lower Body workout. I could definitely feel yesterday’s Upper Body workout in my chest muscles (pectorals?). I did the whole routine today with 15 lb. weights, and I’m pretty sure I’ll feel it tomorrow. I decided to skip the optional 15-minute Streamline Sculpt for two reasons: 1) I’m on somewhat of a tight schedule this morning, and 2) I feel like the Lower Body gave me a really great workout. Maybe I’ll have time to do it later today or tomorrow. For now, gotta go walk doggies at the shelter!
Day 4 and I feel great. Started with early morning yoga and rested until the early afternoon where I did my second Lower Body workout of the week with barbells. This one was squats rather than deadlifts so will work quads and hamstrings. Again I just started with the 8 kilo pole and then for the later rounds with fewer reps added two 5 kilo weights to add intensity. We were working in teams and all the others in my team were lifting much heavier…. as on Monday. Ho hum I am what I am. It was enough for me. I felt good afterwards and ready for the Ambush class which was Tabata today. My first Ambush of the week although my second HiiT. It was fun but totally exhausting and a really good mix of exercises. Jessica’s DVD’s were a great preparation for that one as the class was a full on hour. Rest and night yoga 7.30pm to 8.30pm which I hope isn’t going to be as tough tonight as last night.
It seems there is a US lady Kick-boxer here in training for the new Xena movie. Isn’t that exciting?
Wish you all were here sharing this fabulous experience with me. I feel so lucky to be enjoying this and having so much fun at the same time. A cat has adopted me too. I am calling her Xena. She waits each day for me by my door and on my balcony. A real beauty of a non pedigree Siamese.
Yesterday I felt a bit under the weather quite suddenly so I decided just to rest and take care of me, feeling much better today but was amazed when I got up this morning that I could tell I hadn’t done any exercise. Our bodies are so amazing at adapting when we take proper care of them, just the short time that I have been putting ALL the pieces into place and if I miss one piece I feel it. Just goes to show you are never to old to learn heheheheheh 😀
Just finished Upper Body Workout. Whew! I was able to use 15 lb. weights until we got to the arm work, at which point I dropped down to 10 lb. weights. For my light weights, I was able to use 5 lbs. Previously, my highest “light” weight was 4 lbs, which was also a fairly recent upgrade from 3 lbs. I am definitely making progress! Thanks, Jessica!
