Day 9 and I traded a hike with friends today for Steady State Cardio etc. It has been a misty and polluted day today however, the hiking was good although humid. It wasn’t overly challenging but when I looked at my stats I was pleased to have done just under 34,500 steps and a total of 360 floors. It is a great start to my week. I did the bonus stretching routine which was 25 minute Total Body Stretch when I got home. It was just what my body needed. I am glad I did it.
Tomorrow will be a long working day, although from home. I am looking forward to working around the Day 10 Strength workouts and if I have the energy perhaps one of the HiiT routines from Day 11. Let’s see! My inbox is already stacking up however, I think I might do an hour tonight and then leave the rest for tomorrow as planned. My cat is much better now. The vet has given her a magic potion. She is sitting on my lap helping me write this. During the stretching routine I had to be careful not to kick her during the leg swings. She loves helping and doing yoga with me.
I hope everyone is well! 😀😀😀
Day 8 and the start of week 2. I started the day with Total Body Abs Transformer from Cardio Abs as I don’t have the Stepping Strength Download yet. This one is a High Intensity Strength and Cardio Routine that I alway love to do but it needs tons of energy which I have today. I still haven’t the confidence to try out single armed burpees like Jessica. The two armed version are enough for me at the moment. I partnered that with the recommended Stepping Strength from YouTube which I also enjoyed a lot.
I then went out for a stroll around the island with my husband. We always enjoy our Sunday stroll to get our steps and floors in. The weather is cooler than yesterday but we still enjoyed our lunch outside on our roof. I had work to catch up with this afternoon. I just wanted to get on top of everything as I plan to hike with the group tomorrow.
Late afternoon I did Deep Stretch from the new Total Stretch Download. It is one of the recommended bonus routines for tomorrow but, I wanted to stretch out after the strength training today and as I mentioned yesterday my hips are tight after all the hiking and walking I have been doing and Deep Stretch is wonderful because there is a lot of focus on the hips.
Going to relax for the rest of my Sunday. I started a new book yesterday and that will be great company this evening.
mholdsworth thinking of you exercising with your daughter in hospital and hope that you are both well.
Maureen I do hope that your tendinitis is easing that that you can get out hiking and enjoy yoga with your husband.
Jacy, thinking of you starting Day 8 as my day is ending.
Day 8 – my to do list seemed ever growing today, I still haven’t ticked everything off. I chose the recommended Steppin’ strength workout – thoroughly enjoyed all the different and new moves in that one. I just didn’t have the time and energy for another strength workout and grrr I’m struggling to get my steps in. Tonight I’ve done the total body stretch from tomorrow, I didn’t really want to but thinking of all of you has kept me going with it (plus Jessica reminding us not to skimp on stretching during the workout)! Thank you all so much for keeping me going!
Day 6 was a bit chaotic as I had to help my mum all morning with some technology shopping she wanted to do, then spent the afternoon with the school sorting out something for one of the boys and then the evening until 10pm setting up with my mum all her new technology! So just managed to squeeze in the recommended 28 min Ballet Body Barre and the 15 min SOS. A little easier today on day 7, with the recommended HIIT Interval Walking for beginners, I then managed 20mins of indoor jogging until I was interrupted! Tonight I enjoyed the 18 min simple stretch. I think you are right Jackie, it is better to end the day with a stretch rather than tag it on to the main workout. Hope you and your daughter are now home MHoldsworth and you can have a decent nights sleep. Won’t they miss the yoga star of their recordings when you’ve left!!! Can’t wait for Week 2 of the Challenge!
Day 7 and a beautiful sunny rest day. No early morning routine today as I slept late as my night was broken as my lovely elderly cat had an “accident” during the night in our bedroom and I had to get up and clean it up and change the bedding. Poor darling is such a gentle old lady. She was so upset.
I have been doing a lot of hiking as you know and my lower body feels tight so before lunch I did Flow 3 Hips and Knees from Gentle Yoga and this evening have done Strong Feet and Ankles and Strong Hips and Knees from Five Fatburning Miles. They have definitely worked some magic however, my hips are still tighter than normal so I shall keep stretching each day.
it has been a quiet day pottering around the house, rooftop in the sunshine and then shopping down in the village. We also took Cally for a check up on Lantau Island with the Vet this afternoon and had an early local dinner in one of the village restaurants there. She will be going in for a scan on Hong Kong Island once we get back to HK after our trip to the U.K. later this month.
I still got 71 floors and 14,600+ steps so far today which isn’t bad considering it has been a gentle relaxing day. I have had work to do as well but not much as I cleared a lot earlier in the week. Looking forward a lot to Day 8 tomorrow and Week 2 of this fabulous challenge. I hope everyone is well!
