I started week 4 today… The total body training was a bit hard for me (especially after Easter vacation), but I managed to complete it (though I wasn’t able to use the heaviest set of weght for the whole session) and I love the fact that, week after week, I’m getting stronger, I’m progressing and I look forward to exercise everyday (I still can’t believe this last one!).
Week 4 Day 6! I have to admit I looked at this week’s schedule a the end of last week and thought it was going to be a real beast. It ended up being easier than I anticipated, even with upping the weights on some of the routines. The only hiccup was the Lower Body Sculpt which is always the ‘eat your broccoli’ of the program for me. I know I need to do it and that it will be good for me, but I dread it. Got through it though, knowing that the wonderful Pre-Hab routine was waiting for me the next day. Upper Body Strength today, one of my faves!
I really hit a wall with Week 4. Day 23, I SO didn’t want to exercise. This is not a new feeling, but boy, it just seemed harder than usual to get started. And the workout seemed harder than it had in previous weeks.
Then my WHY kicked in. I started working out so I could keep up with my 10 year old Arabian gelding and be the best, most fit rider I could be for him.
Yesterday, I had the most vigorous ride I have had on him in months — it was huge fun (it always is, really, which is why I do it), but toward the end I burst out in a huge grin — I realized I wasn’t panting like I would normally have been. In fact, I wasn’t really even breathing hard. And my arms and legs weren’t screaming at me. I felt like I could keep going, where my sweet gelding clearly needed to cool out.
This morning, when I got up to work out, my “Why am I doing this?” had a clear answer, and it was easier, and I could push myself harder.
It doesn’t get much better than that!
Checking in on Day 23! I should technically be on Week 5 but I got hit with a rough cold and had to scale my workouts back for a week. I love that you have an “under the weather” routine up on YouTube! It really helps me not entirely give up on moving.
But my biggest victory this week is getting up and completing Interval Mix after a really rough night with my kids who are both sick now. All I felt like doing was lying on the couch all morning while they watch cartoons. But I know I have way more energy if I get up and get moving.
I am in Week 4, Day 4 of the 6 week Total Transformation program. Great to have a rotation schedule to follow. It acts like a motivation for me to do something everyday.
I really like that you have a rotation schedule for the DVDs. Most of the workout videos that I have are individual ones without suggestion for rotation. It is kind of a jumble when I choose which one to workout to. I appreciate the rotation in your program.
